Broken Spike on the Garden Tomb Wall

It has been known for some time that there is a broken iron spike on the face of the Garden Tomb wall on the left side. For those who believe the Tomb once held the body of Jesus, and had been closed with a great Seal Stone, the purpose of the spike was understood: it was to stop the Stone from rolling back. However, skeptics argued that it could be just a shell fragment from shooting in modern times. Recently the Garden Tomb association and the Israeli Antiquities Authority conducted tests on fragments of the exposed metal and the tests showed the metal is not of modern origin.
