Section 2 Chapter 7: The One World System Put on Hold
As God witnessed the urban mindset come about with one of Ham’s descendants, namely Nimrod, He had to take prompt action to thwart the efforts of this “mighty hunter” (as he is referred to in Scripture), dictatorship would lead to the social controls God’s supernatural enemy had always intended for mankind. This was the necessary agenda that would facilitate total control over humanity, the single element satan perceived as his only hope to perpetuate his own existence.
Apparently, some of the science and technology from the pre-flood world had been handed down, thus enabling some to utilize their expertise in ways that impressed and captivated the imagination of the average individual. Like all times, there have been leaders… and a multitude of followers. Nimrod was more than willing and capable to take the lead. The long-term community action plan for Nimrod’s city (Babylon), was one where the Creator God was not involved. Let’s build a tower up to be equal with God, so He can never flood us again, was his thinking. This city would leave God on the outside but promised to provide all the inhabitance what they needed or wanted. It was quite the socialists dream, only believe what we tell you to believe, and you’ll be so happy and content. Paganism was the philosophy that bound the inhabitance together for a godless brotherhood existence.
As one reviews our world history several examples of this kind of activity are obvious. The Tower of Babel is one of the first we could sight. Even though there are no specific examples pre-flood mentioned in scripture, we know that the people were speaking a single language. Scripture only mentions that “the earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God said unto Noah, the end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth”. Two things here to note: the violence is pictured as being widespread, “the earth was filled with violence” and the violence was coming from a specific source, “earth filled with violence through them” (Gen. 6:11,13). The “them”, had to be those self-appointed rabble who had taken control of the narrative, and who were willing to use violence to control the masses.
The Tower of Babel is the first mentioned attempt at a one world system post-flood. And why not go there, it was apparently working pre-flood, with the very obvious result of only 8 survivors, wow! did God do satan a big favor? This was just what satan wanted, fewer people meant an easier path for total control. Certainly, humanity would have been very vulnerable to satanic ideology at this point in history. There is so much that needs to be said about the work of the Holy Spirit and Gods messengers (the holy angels), in preserving the spirit of reverence for God with those that survived the flood. Of course it didn’t take very long for evil to gain another foothold.
What was the key that enabled humanity to prevail? The seed of truth would be the simple and correct answer, but let’s take it a step further. God’s word declares, “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent” (Rev.3:19). God knew that for us to survive the enemies’ assaults and his endeavor to take full control of humanity, we would need protection and distraction. The protection could only come from a divine source (one that we often take for granted), no question the angels have been working overtime in this post-flood environment. How could God distract us from a hell-bent supernatural enemy?
In two direct ways God has given us a real chance to resist the temptations of the enemy. He counsels us to put on the full armor of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Eph. 6:10-12). If you have ever had to dress up with such an outfit you would be totally distracted from everything else. It illustrates the hard work and focus that it takes to ignore temptation and sin. With God’s armor on, the things of this world grow strangely dim, as the song says. And the most important and crucial part, “to just stand”, allowing God to do the fighting. We are so arrogant, we have come to believe at times that we can do the fighting, how foolish. By staying distracted we play total defense, God is our offense, He is the only one that wins the battles anyway. It takes some of us longer to learn that lesson.
The other aspect in our post-flood favor was accomplished by the deterioration of the pristine eco-system itself, we no longer have 9 centuries to think about ways to get into trouble or cause trouble for others. We have declined truly by 90% of what the capabilities were of those that lived before the flood, we are the 10%ers, God was left with a tithe. And yet God’s word indicates that the remnant near probations close will be like Christ (in character), reflecting His character. With our lifespans cut so short, comparatively so, the urgency to make a decision for Christ is more prudent. What the antediluvians could not accomplish the 10%ers will. Never underestimate the value of work, of staying too busy to yield to temptation. Let us grasp hold of all the tools for success that God offers!
Gods called, chosen and faithful (Rev.17:14), are those that overcome a new world order near probations close. God allows the enemy to play all his cards so there can never be any question concerning His integrity throughout the cosmic conflict. A one-world system had a degree of success in the distant pass, the enemy resorts to a replay in his efforts to win the day. However, God is all too familiar with all the enemies plays, nothing will catch Him by surprise, and so He offers needed strength to the remnant who stand on the promises of their creator, they keep His commandments and possess the faith of Jesus (Rev.12:17). Never be idle when you may learn, but work, work like the busy bee, and no evil web shall entangle thee – (Poem The Bees and the Spider)
The book of Revelation chapter 13 describes near probations end, a one-world system that is allowed to once again take control of the world. This beast system as it is called, demands worship. This is the final ultimate test brought on humanity, who will you worship, God or satan, the truth or man-made tradition, it all comes down to that.
Scripture indicates most all at that late hour will bow down to God’s enemy. “And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed; and all the world wondered (followed) after the beast. And they worshiped the dragon (satan) which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him? And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Rev. 13:3-4,7-8).
Now it has become obvious the reason for the same warning that Noah sounded before the great flood. This worlds probation is about over, multitudes still need to make a choice, a decision for or against the truth. The remains of the same ship and the remains of the same man, will now send the same warning message to all humanity.
