Introduction

Polls conducted in 2012 across 20 countries found over 14% of people believe the world will end in their lifetime, with percentages ranging from 6% of people in France to 22% in the US and Turkey. Belief in the apocalypse is most prevalent in people with lower rates of education, lower household incomes, and those under the age of 35. In the UK in 2015, 23% of the general public believed the apocalypse was likely to occur in their lifetime, compared to 10% of experts from the Global Challenges Foundation. The general public believed the likeliest cause would be nuclear war, while some experts thought it would be artificial intelligence. Only 3% of Britons thought the end would be caused by the Last Judgement, compared to 16% of Americans. Between one and three percent of people from both countries said the apocalypse would be caused by zombies or alien invasion.  (stats from wikipedia sources)

Certainly television has played a role in influencing folks when it comes to an apocalypse.  It also seems obvious that with these numbers listed above, it leaves a lot of room for multitudes of folks highly distracted or a reflection of masses of folks that don’t really care if or when the end comes.  Even if society has been programmed to dismiss the reality of an end-time scenario, I’ve been wondering just how to get across a very sensitive yet timely message to the general public myself, the insights however, fall into a semi-theological category; yet they are very profound as well.  I’m not in the main spotlight often, don’t associate with anyone who is, my involvement in Biblical archaeology has occupied much of my spare time over the years, with our research adding an exciting element to the exegesis of Scripture.  My decades of construction experience has also aided in the development of this manuscript and our research in general.

On a personal note, my wife and I have a large family and are enjoying several grandkids in our retirement.  During our journey together we have searched the Scriptures now for over 40 years and claimed the promises that if one seeks, they will find.  Like many Christians we at times think about specific revelations and inspiration from God’s word and the promise from His Son, that He is coming back soon, bringing an end to our current world scenario of sin and woe.

Some of the comments over the years that have caught our attention are those very predictions related to the coming of Christ and the end of the world.  Actually, this sentiment has been going on for thousands of years now, numerous individuals have taken the plunge over the cliff so-to-speak, to offer up their prediction(s) concerning the end of the world and the coming of Christ or even some type of a new age.  So, when the Lord laid on my heart, what I believed to be a timely message of the end, I hesitated to jump on the bandwagon and be classified as one of those questionable individuals intent on gaining wealth, recognition, and scorn.  Actually, this message clarifies perhaps what some had intended from the start, that of sounding an alarm helping folks prepare for the end.  But who can known when that is??

History testifies that nearly all of these predictions have failed to occur (some are still in the fulfilling stages), a well-informed, now apprehensive general public, has every right to be put off by another one of those, so-called crack-pot ideas, designed to rattle societies thinking, creating some degree of hysteria, or maybe becoming the plot for the next Hollywood movie.

This, of course, would not be my intent here, as this is a very serious situation; individuals will be lost or saved based on their choices,  and time is running out to make that ultimate decision for Christ. Offering up greater insights should help with this process of choosing correctly; one bit of intel from my research revealed that most all the prognosticators had one thing in common.  Even if the source of their predictions  originated from a hypothesis of systematic Scriptural study and insight; a key element was overlooked.  Without the key, the door to making an accurate prediction would always be closed.  What you ended up with was typically some claiming a vision, a dream(s), some gut feeling, an impression, an intuition from non-biblical sources (even supposed alien), or an application  that was considered a fulfillment of Scripture, such as in the case of the Millerite movement back in the 1840’s.  And though likely very sincere and trusting in the leading of the Spirit, these individuals unknowingly were actually setting themselves up for ridicule, hardship, rejection and even scorn.

This sentiment though has worked against society’s ability to be prepared for the inevitable.  Christ is coming soon according to His own promise, the question is, does Scripture reveal an approximate time to assist with our preparations? Is now the moment in time when we need to seriously consider these things.

When the apostle Paul makes the statement that we should know the time in which we live that, quote “it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed” (Rom 13:11).  Should that message be taken to heart?  Did God program into the Scriptures a divine blueprint, that if correctly perceived, would provide  humanity a heads-up, revealing such a close of human probationary time?

One other component worth mentioning is also the supernatural element at play.  If the enemy of God was intent on preventing any from really being prepared for such a; “final day”, could he not simply inspire many such false-flag predictions, desensitizing the masses into believing no such literal event would ever occur in their lifetime; catching the final generations utterly unprepared; even the church?  This is what I believe has occurred over thousands of years.  I see the devil as a master in deceptive manipulation, as Scripture reveals, he deceives the masses and even the church, to be at ease in Zion; the result being a people regarded as wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked (spiritually speaking), and totally oblivious to their own spiritual condition.  (Rev. 3:17)

I even hear Pastors today making the claim that there’s no reason to create a sense of urgency, to be ready for such an emergency as the 2nd coming of Christ and the end of our current society.  This I believe is right from the devil’s playbook.  One of the reasons for the feast’s mentioned in the Scriptures (I believe), is to keep these critical events before the people of God.

Just keep the people distracted, comfortable, entertained, too busy working or playing to realize that probations hours are speedily flowing through the proverbial hourglass of time.  The word of God very aptly describes the condition of the masses near the end; they are drunk with the cares of this life (Eph 5:14-18), totally oblivious that probation’s door is soon to close, sealing their fate forever (Rev.22:11-12).  As you know someone drunk cannot be vigilant, they will not be sober, alert to any danger.

In all this indifference within Christianity and craziness in the world we call life, God’s impression to me was; don’t worry about the past, or even the future, or even contemporary thinking or political correctness, just share with the world, “My Blueprint”.  So here goes, I’ve just got to do it!

“I have been impressed with the urgency of doing, knowing is not enough: we must apply.  Being wiling is not enough; we must do”
